OUR COMPANY HISTORY
Established in 2019, TMG Surveys (Pty) Ltd is a land and engineering surveying company and is 100% privately black owned. TMG Surveys confidently executes any form of land and engineering survey work that meets all the legal prescripts, quality standards as well as exceeds the client’s expectations.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
With a high level of technical and business management expertise, TMG Surveys has adopted Philip B. Crosby’s ‘Do it right the first time’ (DRIFT) Quality Management Philosophy as well as the Project Management Philosophy. The Do it right the first time’ philosophy ensures that it is the norm for all Projects to be done correctly and efficiently the first time and every time – no delays, defects, scrap and rework. All assignments, big or small, are executed following a project cycle approach from project conceptualisation phase to project closure phase.
These two adopted management philosophies enable TMG Surveys to have a much larger impact on the output delivered as it affords sufficient time to conduct due diligence, design and decision validation before finalisation and delivery to the client. All project information is tracked using an integrated database management system.

Today, TMG Surveys has a total of eight full-time staff members and five (5) member companies in its network of alliance. The company’s objective is to be reputable for the facilitation and management of projects and interventions for business success and leadership through partnerships and consortiums where required. The company operates under the leadership of the founding member and Managing Director, Mr Thandokuhle M. Guma. Mr Guma is a, 31-year-old, entrepreneur who has a National Diploma (Surveying) and a B. Tech (Surveying) qualifications, both obtained at the Durban University of Technology. Due to his expertise and professional experience in the field of 10 years, Mr Guma has been appointed as a Surveyor in multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects of various magnitudes. These includes but not limited to high-rise buildings, roads, railway lines and bulk earthworks. Mr Guma is a registered Professional Surveyor with the South African Geomatics Council.
